Project Details:

Currently, the preferred concept is known as a "Continuous Flow Intersection." This innovative and cost effective design can relieve congestion for travelers, increase safety for pedestrians and increase access to local businesses at this gateway intersection.

CFI Basics:

  • At-grade intersection (much more cost-effective than grade separation)
  • Left turns happen in advance of the intersection allowing for multiple movements to take place simultaneously
  • Eliminates a signal phase at the intersection (increasing efficiency and capacity)

What does a left turn look like in a CFI? - Click on the video attached with this announcement.
