Blue Devils Basketball Team Win at Hilton Invitational

The Norcross team defeated opponent Dematha High from Maryland 68-67 in the Saturday night match up.

Norcross High's boys basketball teams came out on top in last Saturday's Hilton Invitational.

Comprised of a series of games involving 12 teams from local Georgia schools and numerous teams from other states, it was a close game for Norcross High School, who also hosted the fifth-annual event.

The Blue Devils defeated Dematha High from Maryland with a final score of 68-67 according to HoopSeen.com.

Calling it the "best game of the Hilton Invitational," the website gave special notice to senior Brandon Goodwin, who finished with not only 21 points but also the game's winning goal with seven seconds left.

And nearby, Greater Atlanta Christian School, won 81-56 against Martin Luther King Jr. High from DeKalb County. The Spartans were supposed to play North Carolina's Olympic High from North Carolina, but the Charlotte team cancelled due to icy roads. MaxPreps actually predicted GAC would fall to Olympic.

The GAC player of the game was Isaiah Wilkins, who scored 16 points, had 10 rebounds and made nine blocks. HoopSeen also noted Colin Swinton's achievement of 19 points, 17 of which were during the Spartan's first half. The total is a personal game-high for Swinton.

Information from this article came from HoopSeen.com and the Norcross High School Basketball website.
