It's Cityhood for Peachtree Corners

Gwinnett's newest city kicked off the historic day with a Founders Day Parade, proclamations and other festivities on Sunday.

On Sunday Peachtree Corners celebrated becoming a city with the Founders Day Parade, a performance by the Oswald Brothers Band, and proclamations from Gov. Nathan Deal and other state and local officials.

The two day festival also included artists' booths, food, entertainment, local businesses and thousands came out to participate.

July 1, 2012 marked the official beginning of Peachtree Corners as the county's 16th - and largest city - and the first to incorporate since 1956.
