Dick's Sporting Goods Suspends Sale of Some Guns
The national chain, with three locations in Gwinnett including one in Peachtree Corners, made the decision after Friday's school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.
Dick's Sporting Goods, with Gwinnett-area locations in Buford, Peachtree Corners and Loganville, has stopped selling some semi-automatic rifles to show respect for the victims in last week's school shooting in Connecticut, CNN reports.
It's not known when the stores will return to selling guns in the category of "modern sporting rifles," CNN says.
The shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, which killed 20 children and six adults, has re-ignited a national debate about gun control. Local Patch bloggers have also weighed in, both for and against new regulation.
What do you think? Should more stores suspend sales of semi-automatic rifles? Tell us in the comments below.

No the constitutional right to bear arms is a citizens right and until the law is changed their store should continue selling all guns to licensed sportsmen until such time the law is changed.

My guess is Dick's is doing the same as other merchants by suspending sales until demand pushes the prices way up. A close check of these type shootings will show that the guns used were usually stolen or purchased over time so as not raise suspicion.
Exactly are "modern sporting rifles"? Are they autoloaders, like the AR15 or an autoloader like the Remington Model 8 that was made prior to World War One?
I get very tired of hearing the term "Assault Rifle"! An assault rifle is capable of full automatic fire, you must have a special license to own one AND pay a large tax every year!
