One Man Dead After Officer-Involved Shooting

A father and brother are in jail following a shooting Thursday evening that left one man dead in Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett County Police responded to a call of a man attempting commit suicide on Trophy Trail Thursday at around 7:30pm. Police say the man, James Clark, was armed with a hunting rifle when they arrived at the home. GCPD says they tried to negotiate with Clark, but attempts failed and police were forced to shoot the man. He was later pronounced dead.

According to WSB-TV, Clark's father, Thomas, and brother, Robert, arrived to the house shortly after the shooting. Police arrested Clark's father of Winder, and his brother of Snellville, and charged them both with disorderly conduct. They were admitted to the Gwinnett County Detention Center at about 9:30pm Thursday.

In January, GCPD officers were involved in a controversial shooting in Stone Mountain.

Why didn't they just let the man kill himself if they were going to shoot him anyway? ...and they arrest two family member who are upset at the situation? Real top of the line police work there, GCPD.

Of Course the two Gwinnett Police officers initiated hostilities and opened fire, there's a Medal of Valor at stake here. Shooting a citizen certainly puts you on the short list.
