Get Out - and Enjoy the 4th of July Weekend

Fireworks, live music, ghost tours and more on tap for the three-day holiday.

 

They say fireworks make the Fourth of July one of the most dangerous holidays of the year. Then they invite you, your family and everyone you know to come crowd around them while they explode. We don't always make sense but we live in a great country.

Gwinnett County Public Library’s “Meet the Author Series “ presents Karin Slaughter 
New York Times best selling author Karin Slaughter brings the promo tour of her new novel Fallen to Norcross. She'll be signing books and talking with fans at Barnes and Noble at The Forum on Friday night. 

Brown Bag Lunch Series - Interactive Comedy Magic & Mindreading

The family fun starts at noon on Thursday as Magic Debbie entertains the Duluth Town Green. Having performed for presidents past, Debbie's show incorporates colorful magic, comedy and mind reading.

Norcross Ghost Tours

This weekly tour meets every Saturday at 45 South Cafe in Historic Norcross. Hosts walk and talk the group on a tour of the downtown area's most haunted places. For more info, call 404-934-4805.

East Dixie Band - Everette Brother's Music Barn  The East Dixie Band join the Everette Brothers at the Music Barn this Saturday night for good, old bluegrass fun. If you want to jam after the show, bring an instrument.

Red, White and Brew at the Georgia Aquarium

Monday evening the Georgia Aquarium will be celebrating this Independence Day with a beer festival, fireworks and a live performance by Yacht Rock Revue. No word on if the band will actually play from a yacht floating in that huge tank, but that'd be awesome.

Duluth Celebrates America - Family-friendly activities, a musical stage show and fireworks highlight Duluth's patriotic celebration starting at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 3, at Scott Hudgens Park located off Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. Stage show starts at 6 p.m. Fireworks at 10 p.m. Free but donations accepted.

Fireworks Festival in Historic Norcross

This annual Independence Day celebration takes over Downtown Norcross with food music and more starting at 4:00 p.m. I hear there are 15-20K people expected to show up for the fireworks show so I recommend getting there early to grab a spot on the lawn of Lillian Webb Park.

Atlanta Silverbacks Soccer 

The Silverbacks play host to NASL rival Puerto Rico Islanders on The Fourth. Game starts at 7:30 p.m. and I'll almost bet you'll get some fireworks out of the night. Either on the field or off.

Mall of Georgia's Fabulous Fourth Lights Up Gwinnett

Come celebrate the Fourth of July at the Mall of Georgia. Live music from Samantha Stroh, The Woody's and The Atlanta Groove precede the fireworks display and a screening of the movie Little Fockers will follow.

Atlanta Braves vs Baltimore OriolesThe Braves return home to continue their interleague play with Baltimore Orioles coming to town.  7/1 - 7:35 p.m.
7/2 - 7:10 p.m.
7/3 - 1:35 p.m.
