Gun-Wielding Man Accost Two Women on W. Jones Bridge Road

Wednesday morning two Peachtree Corners joggers were held up at gunpoint by a man who demanded their cell phones.

Shortly after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning two women were out for an early jog on West Jones Bridge Road when they were stopped by a man brandishing a gun and demanding they turn over their cell phones.

The incident occurred at the entrance of the Tillman subdivision near Broadwood Avenue.Β 

"They were approached by a lighter skin black male armed with a black handgun," said Major Gale Higginbotham from the Gwinnett Police Department's West Precinct who said that it was discovered later that the gun was made of plastic.

Shortly after the confrontation the man knocked the two women to the ground to grab their cell phones demanding their phones while pointing the weapon at them." While the male was making his escape he continued to brandish his weapon at the females," said Higginbotham.

After the robbery the man was seen getting into a light color silver Chevrolet Impala that was driven by a black female. The two headed west on West Jones Bridge Road.

"The ladies sustained minor injuries (cuts/lacerations); however refused medical treatment on scene," said Higginbotham.

The women told police they had seen the same man earlier on their walk on E. Jones Bridge Road.

Following is a description of the robber and his accomplice.

Male Suspect:

- Black male approximately 5'09-5'10"
- 17- early 20's
- Tattoos on both arms
- Male suspect was wearing winter-type hat with possible ear flaps.
- Green shirt
- Did not appear to have facial hair.Β 

Female suspect:

- Black female
- Skinny build- 17- early 20's

Vehicle:

- Lighter color silver Chevrolet Impala- Stock Appeared in good condition
