The starting horn sounded, the flash fired and the water erupted with Piranhas and Barracudas at the River Station Pool under a carnival atmosphere akin to a summer festival complete with vendors and tents. There were foods to eat, drinks to drink and of course, friendly competitive swimming events involving children as young as five years old and up to seventeen.

Team events began with the 25 yard backstroke for girls 6 and under, followed by the boys and moving on up through the 100 and 200 yard medley relays, then freestyle swimming competitions, individual medleys, breaststroke and butterfly heats in every age range.

Parents, grandparents, families and friends cheered encouragement as swimmers jumped into the heat of the contests and although there were finish times posted, all participants could be classed as winners. Enjoy the videos and stills.
