More Focus on Chick-fil-A
Political sides in the same-sex marriage controversy have issued "calls to action" at the restaurant chain's outlets for Aug 1 and Aug. 3.
This could be an interesting week for Chick-fil-A, the Atlanta-based restaurant chain that recently has become a political battleground.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has called for Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day on Wednesday, Aug. 1, and has set up a Facebook page to draw attention.
The controversy, of course, comes from a statement by Chick-fil-A executive Dan Cathy, who supports the view of marriage as between a man and a woman. Dan Cathy, son of company founder Truman Cathy, said the fast-food giant was “guilty as charged” of supporting “the biblical definition of the family unit.”
This could play out in Peachtree Corners, as the restaurant chain has a store in the city.
-- How do you feel about the controversy? Will you patronize or avoid Chick-fil-A on these days because of the so-called "calls to action?"
