Noble Village at Spalding To Open Fall 2013

The official ground-breaking ceremony was held Thursday. Attending were Peachtree Corners council members Jay Lowe and Lorri Christopher and Gwinnett Commissioner Lynette Howard.

A ground breaking ceremony at the site of the new Noble Village at Spalding was held Thursday morning signaling that the long-awaited senior living center is finally under way.

The senior living center had been planned for several years on the site of the former Faith Life Church on Spalding Drive, but it was late August of this year when the developer finally broke ground. Tony Gary, one of the partners in Gary Holding Group, the developers of the project, was on hand for the ceremony.

"We're excited to be here in Peachtree Corners," said Gary. "This is going to be our premier development."

The center, for seniors 55 and over, features residential cottages and apartments for independent living. Noble Village also provides specialized service for assisted and memory care residents.

The new center also has a long list of amenities including walking paths, pet park, zero-entry heated pool, laundry service, post office, dining room, chapel, and several dining areas.

Gary said the company currently owns one other senior living center located in Suwanee, called Noble Village at Sugarloaf. But this one is being designed and built specifically for Peachtree Corners he said. One of the unique features is the the 19 cottages planned for the development will be for sale.

"We wanted to offer the residents an opportunity to actually purchase the cottage they will live in," said Gary. "It's not something we've ever done before. Gary Holding has built a number of other senior living centers throughout north Georgia, but has sold those properties except for the Suwanee center.

"This will be so much more than just a place to live," said Tammy McGrady, operations director for the company. "The residents will become like family."

A place for senior living is one aspect that many Peachtree Corners residents had hoped to see one day.

"It's a beautiful design and will fit into our community nicely," said Lynette Howard, Gwinnett County Commissioner for District 2. "The new senior center will satisfy a need for seniors living in Peachtree Corners to stay after they are ready to move out of their larger homes."

Speaking in behalf of the city's mayor, Mike Mason, Council member Jay Lowe (Post 2), said the new center also represents the city's ability to attract new economic development.

"Our city is competing with other communities for investment and jobs," said Lowe. "... Noble Village is a terrific example of how these efforts will move our city forward."

Noble Village at Spalding is expected to open in the fall of 2013. For more information call 770-232-3008.
