A single car wreck early Sunday morning (Nov. 4) killed 67-year-old Byron C. Brown of Peachtree Corners, a spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department said today.

The fatal crash occurred at 1:15 a.m. when Brown, who was driving a silver 2009 Hyundai Azera north on Interstate 575, got off at the Barrett Parkway exit without slowing down, Officer Mike Bowman said.

"He then continued northbound crossing all lanes of Barrett Parkway and collided with a retaining wall on the north side of the roadway at a high rate of speed," Bowman said.

Brown died at the scene of the crash, which remains under investigation.
