What Are The Peachtree Corners Voting Districts

The new city is divided into three districts, each representing a specific area.

Along with the formation of a new city a lot of questions come up on cityhood, including queries on the three voting districts. To help with the process, we're publishing a map of the boundaries of Peachtree Corners which illustrates the voting districts.

The city is divided into three districts. One (elected) council member will represent each of the districts with the remaining three council members representing the city at large.

The map's boundaries were chosen using Paul Duke's original borders for Peachtree Corners, the Peachtree Corners Overlay District, and then rounded out to the nearest legal borders or major transportation artery, explained Mike Mason, Peachtree Corners mayor elect. "The boundaries for the voting districts were drawn up by the State of Georgia," added Mason.

The size of each district varies slightly as the borders are determined by population not geographical area explained Gina Wright, Redistricting Services Specialist with the State of Georgia.
