Community Corner
Peachtree Corners - A Legacy for Future Generations
Don't let contentment grow into complacency, vote in favor of the City of Peachtree Corners.
I’ve had the privilege over the last four weeks of going door-to-door in my voting precinct promoting Peachtree Corners YES. While I heard a lot of different comments and questions, on reflection, I think the perspectives of homeowners fall into two general camps.
Many seasoned citizens, of which I am one, have asked these kinds of questions...”How will this benefit me?” or “Why do I want a city, things are fine for me as they are?” This is contrasted with the questions from the parents of young children who are more likely to ask...”Will this be the kind of community in which I want my children to be raised?”
Growing up in a small Georgia town in the '50s is where I learned about community and what it means to be a good citizen. I think we should offer that small town atmosphere to those in our midst who we want to be the model citizens of tomorrow to protect our freedom and liberty and preserve the quality of life that make our nation great. We can best model that behavior with a government and civic involvement that is closest to us, right here in Peachtree Corners.

I think everyone I met in my door-to-door experience are probably good citizens but we have to be careful not to let the contentment of our personal circumstances grow into complacency and short change those who are dependent on us to leave their home town better than what we experienced.
I am definitely voting YES on Tuesday!
