Suspects Charged in Jewelry Store Robberies

Three men charged in Gwinnett jewelry store armed robberies. One suspect is in custody, two others remain at large.

Three men have been charged in robberies earlier this year at Barron’s Fine Jewelry and, according to a press release from the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Detectives have charged Simone Simon, 33; Terrence Talley, 28; and Nicholas Moss, 31, with armed robbery in each of these cases, according to the release.

Simon and Moss are still at large, and anyone with information on their whereabouts should contact 770-513-5300. Talley is in custody at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.

Tara Fine Jewelry, 1829 Buford Highway in Buford, was robbed by four men with handguns and hammers on March 22, 2011. The men ordered everyone in the store to get down on the ground and struck a customer in the head with one of the hammers. The suspects then smashed display cases and escaped with close to $1 million worth of jewelry and watches.

Barron’s Fine Jewelry, 1850 Scenic Highway in Snellville, also was victim to an armed robbery on Feb. 9, 2011. Two men stole about $20,000 worth of jewelry at gunpoint while the third suspect acted as a lookout. Escape vehicles in both these armed robberies were stolen from Atlanta.

Several items, including a few watches, have been reclaimed during the investigation, but most of the stolen merchandise is still unaccounted for.

The GCPD Robbery Unit, Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Snellville Police Department, U.S. Marshals and several other agencies have all contributed to the investigation.
