These Two Pets Are Looking for Their Owner, Can You Help?

Good Samaritan found the dogs dodging traffic on S.R. 141, now trying to locate pets' owners.

Editor's note: Ginny Nevins, a Realtor and Broker for Windsor Realty in Peachtree Corners, rescued two dogs dodging traffic on Peachtree Parkway on Sunday. Now she needs help locating the pets' owners. Please read her story below and contact her if you can help.

I was on my way to an appointment in Peachtree Corners just before 5 p.m. Sunday, (Sept. 17) traveling north on Hwy. 141/ Peachtree Parkway. Just north of Jay Bird Alley, I saw two dogs coming across to the median from the left.

They started to cross in front of several cars ahead of me and many had to put on their brakes to keep from hitting them. I pulled over to the left onto the median and saw they were now traveling north, staying on the median at that point.

When I called for them, they turned around and came bounding up to me. When I encouraged them to get in the car, they did so quite easily. Now what? I thought! I continued to my appointment. and then called my hubby to meet me and take the dogs for a ride through the neighborhoods surrounding the area while I went to make a flier.

He did so and I returned and we put up fliers. No one recognized them in the neighborhoods but someone at Pinckneyville Park's dog park thinks they've seen them there.

They spent the night with us (and our three dogs-what a party!) and other than being hungry from their travels, appear to be well cared for.

Monday morning I took them to our vet (Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital) and had them scanned. Unfortunately, they have no legible ID and no implanted chips. They appear to come from the same home as they cry if separated by more than 10 feet!

The vet has allowed them to stay there for a while as we try to locate the owner. She feels the Shepard is a puppy and the Beagle is full grown, but not old.

Both are housebroken and certainly understand the command NO! By way of ID, we are asking the owner to identify the collars they were wearing.

Anyone who thinks they may know these dogs, please call me.

Thanks so much,

Update! Owner's neighbor saw my flyer at the YMCA (thanks, Y friends!) Poor guys had been let out of the fence sometime Saturday night by someone while the owner was in church. He had been prowling every shelter around for them! Thanks, Judy, for your help in getting the word out! Ginny
