I love local theater because the people involved have such a true passion for their craft. Some very talented people that enjoy doing it is great!

Local theater is great; you are up close, they actors are known to you, the other patrons are old friends and it brings me back to downtown with great food, easy parking and the town I grew up in.

The enthusiasm, excitement, exuberance, eagerness, exhilaration... and overwhelming sense of pure FUN that local (community) theater brings to the stage is an experience not to be missed... If you have been to professional theater, live music concerts, a museum presentation, an art festival or the gallery opening of a new artist and have NOT been to a local theater, then you have yet to reach the peak of the Mt. Everest of the art world.... And, if you have, then you know, that standing at the top and seeing all that is about, can make you feel so very much ALIVE! And isn't that just soooooo good!

Local talent, short distance, theatre is fun, etc. Community can be involved in putting on the play, too. In the end, there is no reason not to like community theatre!

I love local talent theater. The people who are involved really put more of themselves into a charater. You feel more a connection to them rather than just sitting and watching a play. I highly recommend that if you have never been to a community play then you HAVE missed something; local talent entertaining you and not paying an arm and a leg to do it. Bravo!

We love the location which is close to home and it highlights local talent. We have seen several shows with our parents and enjoy the opportunity to eat within walking distance to the theater.

Local theater supports local talent, as well as local businesses! On a show night, many audience members will eat at a local restaurant before or after the show. I love the community involvement that local theater offers.

I love local theater because it's close by, it always has way talented peeps, it's affordable, supports local biz, everyone is friendly, it never fails to make you laugh, cry, snort or all the above, and...ALL the seats have great views!! What's not to love about local theater :)

The ARTS are the HEART and SOUL of a community! It's important to have a RICH layer of CREATIVITY, TALENT and ARTISTIC expression available. The ARTS can only survive with support from the community. It is affordable and fun for the patrons at the same time a true labor of love for the artists involved! I love community theatre~!

The Aurora is great. Every seat is fantastic. It's in town and a lot of fun. No long drive to Atlanta and the parking is free.

Local theater can have excellent talent and gives actors a chance to enjoy using their skills while having other careers and a family. The audience often knows some of the actors, and it is wonderful to have theater right in your own backyard.

Local theatre offers many benefits as already posted. It's wonderful to have the arts in the area as it brings the community. This affords local talent the opportunity to perform for the neighborhoods in which they live.

The hidden gems you find in local productions can be absolutely outstanding. Our friends and neighbors have talents you wouldn't otherwise see, be they on stage or backstage. Additionally, local theater gives you the opportunity to see amazing productions - ones we've seen and loved many times, and ones we've never heard of.

I, for one, have loved local theater since I was a teenager.

I love local theater because it's about the "best bang for your buck". If you go on www.Goldstar.com you can get tickets at about 30% off after their fee; and sometimes more. I was able to get tickets to this show, for instance, at $7 each (whereas the box office has them at $25 a pop). Plus, local artists put so much passion into their work. We've even started to recognize some of our favorites :).

I like the Aurora Theatre because:
-It is local.
-The plays are very entertaining and make me think.
-The theatre has a good relationship with Georgia Gwinnett College (my school).
-Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Nothing like local theatre. More intimate, supports the local economy and offers more opportunities for local talent to participate.

I love the Aurora theatre. Its small and intimate, very well kept and accessible. I have brought my parents and my dad has mobility issues. We haven't had a problem.

So many people are talented in so many ways. Local theatre allows performers who have chosen another full-time career to develop and showcase their talent. It's always a surprise!

Local theatre provides opportunites for performers that are on the way up and hungry for the chance to display their talents in addition to giving people who live outside of the Downtown entertainment district more options to enjoy live stage productions.
