And the date for the inaugural Peachtree Corners Art Fest is fast approaching and we are reaching out for volunteers! This will be a fun day full of fabulous art exhibits, diverse food choices and lively entertainment, but we need your help.  We are seeking volunteers to assist in the areas of:

The second Saturday in October will be a big day and we can make it even bigger with your help.  Sign up today at Peachtree Corners Art Fest or email pcevolunteer@gmail.com or feel free to call (404) 751-8267.

We look forward to your support!

Hey Michelle, we have deleted the Berkeley Lake part, that was incorrect information. Sorry about that!

The arts fest is moving to Berkeley Lake - assuming the city leaders give it their final OK later this week. I have a story planned to run Tuesday a.m. but the blog jumped the gun a little bit.

The promoter of the Art Fest and other planned events - Peachtree Corners Events - is a FOR-PROFIT company prone to use free public infrastructure and resources whenever possible. Why do they ask for "volunteers", when the community needs jobs? The Peachtree Corners Festival (2011, 2012) was a non-profit effort of all volunteers working on behalf of the community.

Wei Li, I'm not sure who you are addressing your question to, but you may want to contact the event organizer, the blogger provided an email and phone number which is listed at the bottom of the blog.

Judy, it was Mr. Byars that used the Patch to appeal to the community, so the question is for him. Since this was presented to community here, the observation and question were stated here. Don't you think the public should be advised that the event promoter Spin Cycle Sports dba Peachtree Corners Events is a for-profit company asking for volunteers? Until the venue change to Berkeley Lake, they were also asking to use public infrastructure - a street to be closed for their commercial use - for free.

Mr. or Ms. or Mrs. Li,
Since your question was addressed to me, I'll respond to you by saying this: I thank all of those that have volunteered for this event and we plan for it to be a spectacular day for the community. This event is one of many events that will take place where the community will be able to volunteer and participate. Our focus is community building, providing forums for individuals to display their talents for all to see, and charitable giving.
