Meet "Callie Girl"! She is a Lab mix approximately 2 years old, and weighs 60 pounds and has been spayed, up-to-date on all vetting/shots, microchipped, house-trained, and very much crate-trained. Meet little Figi, a Pomeranian/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix who is approximately 7 years old and weighs around 20 pounds.  He is neutered, crate and house-trained, up-to-date on all his vetting and shots, is micro-chipped and ready to find a loving, forever family.  Figi was found in a rural county animal shelter with another dog (female) who looked like his twin, but was a bit older.  Meet "Lisa Marie"! This Chihuahua mix is 1-2 years old and weighs in at 8 pounds of joy, fun and love!  Lisa Marie is fully crate-trained, and has no issues with being crated. She is almost fully housebroken, but still does best when she has access to being taken out to potty during the day. And every pound is full of love and affection.  Even though Cilla is small, her heart is as big as the sky and full of love and hope for a family and home of her own. Meet little Fife. This precious boy weighs around 10 pounds and is 10 weeks old. Volunteers from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue think he may be a Shiba Inu mix of some sort, but as you can from his face, he has a very unique look. Sometimes at the Atlanta Humane Society, we see a dog who is a little older that somehow, through no fault of their own, finds their way to our shelter. Pookie is one of these dogs who is looking for a home. The staff and volunteers at the Atlanta Humane Society would like nothing more than to help her find one. Sweet Jasmine, a young tortoiseshell cat, was rescued from an Animal Control facility last summer. As the shelter worker was cleaning her cage, she cried for his attention and jumped into his arms. At that point, our visiting volunteer knew we had to save her!  Jasmine stayed with our cat program coordinator for the next 3 months until she found an adoptive home. Angels Among Us Pet Rescue is trying to help two very friendly and personable cats who urgently need good homes. The request for assistance came from one of our volunteers who is vacationing on Daufuskie Island in South Carolina. There are a number of managed feral cat colonies on the island, and their residents include Banshee and Oreo, two very friendly and domesticated cats who were most likely abandoned when their owners left the island. Angels Among Us Pet Rescue is very grateful to one of our veterinary partners, Peach Pets Animal Hospital of Johns Creek, for saving the life of a sweet, irrepressible Great Dane mix named June Bug. June Bug faced several medical issue that her owners couldn't afford to treat, so Dr. Stephanie Smith was asked to euthanize her. Instead, Dr. Smith accepted ownership of the young dog, and performed the necessary surgery at her own expense. Big, beautiful Maybelle is an 8-year-old Red Bone Coonhound and is just as lovable as can be. Sadly, this big lady ended up in the shelter system with no home or family to call her own. Maybelle is a great house buddy who loves climbing up on the sofa and keeping you company when you watch TV or are reading. This is truly the proverbial couch potato, and although she also enjoys playing in her fenced-in yard and going for walks, her favorite thing really is to hang out with her family...especially if she is the recipient of occasional snacks. Morgan is “nobody's dog.” She once had a family of some sort, but she lost them along the way. She was dumped and forgotten at a rural shelter in North GA, where most animals never see anyone coming through the door, looking to give them a home.   But on what was to be Morgan’s last day on Earth, someone did come - a volunteer from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue changed Morgan’s fate that day by rescuing her from death. Beautiful Bella is a 4-year-old Shepherd mix and she is definitely a people dog. Bella is very smart and always seems to know what you are talking about. She loves hanging out with you and likes to be wherever you are. She has just the right type of energy: Enough to be a great walking buddy, but not enough so that she is hyper in the house. All in all, we think she would be an ideal companion for just about anybody. Bella likes to be the queen of the household, and is jealous with other female dogs. However, she does well with submissive male dogs. We don't know how she would be with cats. …

Beautiful Tatiana ended up at a county animal control facility with a bleak future. However, the staff at the facility liked her so much that they reached out to Angels Among Us to see if we could find room for one more kitty. And are we glad that one of our treasured foster providers stepped up for this sweet little girl! In fairness to this kitty, we gave her the name "Beach Ball" before we put her on kitty weight watchers! Don't get us wrong - she's still a good sized girl, but not nearly as rotund as before! Beach Ball was headed for a shelter because her owner could no longer keep her when we intervened. She is about 5 years old, and is a truly mellow cat. We have found that she is a little reserved with new people, but once she gets to know her special human, she is very affectionate and very loyal. Brantley and Brayden were saved from a shelter along with their two sisters, who have already been adopted. Both of these sweet boys are a little over 6 months old and weigh about 35 pounds. (Our vet thinks they will grow to a nice "medium-sized" weight of 50 pounds.) They are very sweet and get along wonderfully with the foster family's two children and their own two dogs. Beautiful and personable Cinnamon first came to us when she was 6 months old after Angels Among Us rescued her from a high kill animal shelter. She was adopted out to a good home, but is now being returned to us because her owners have had a change in their personal circumstances. (We feel so bad for her!)
