Performers Sarah Brightman and Michael McDonald are among the headliners for major concerts this week in the area. But the well-known acts are just getting started as more big names hit north Georgia before month's end.
Here's a look at just five of those concerts coming before November.
Oct. 18, Lynyrd Skynyrd withThe Marshall Tucker Band andMolly Hatchet. The legendary Southern rockers play together atVerizon Wireless Ampitheatre in Alpharetta. All three bands are a long way from their 1970s roots -- there have been decades of plane crashes, car accidents, natural deaths, health problems and retirements -- but they carry on the traditions of Southern hard rock.
Oct. 19. Rod Stewart with Steve Winwood. The rock legends appear at Philips Arena. Winwood is alternating dates with Boz Scaggs on Stewart's "Live the Life Tour." Stewart and Winwood have not played on the same ticket since 1965.
Oct. 25. John Fogerty. The solo artist and former frontman for Creedence Clearwater Revival returns to Verizon Amphipheatre in Alpharetta. Fogerty will be drawing songs from both sources.
