If you've yet to dig those jackets and coats out of the closet, today may be the day to consider getting ready for some chilly weather.
The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory, in effect from 2 to 9 a.m. Thursday, for portions of north and central Georgia, which includes Peachtree Corners and Gwinnett. Temperatures are expected to range in the mid 30s with frost possible before 8 a.m. Sensitive outdoor plants could be killed if left uncovered, according to the advisory.
In Peachtree Corners, expect patchy frost and a low of about 36 Wednesday night and areas of frost through about 8 a.m. Thursday, according to the NWS forecast. The highs are expected to reach the low 60s.
A frost advisory means that frost is expected. Johns Creek could see another frost Friday night and early Saturday morning and maybe a freeze warning for parts of northern Georgia, according to the NWS' hazardous weather outlook.
