Income inequality? Not for these girls

Women earn 30% less than men on the average across social classes and on all rungs of the corporate ladder. But for these two women, if there’s an inequality happening here, they’re sure on the apex of pay scale than most of us, men and women all.

Oprah and Ellen, two of the hottest talk show hosts today, shame us with their income, which we can only dream of even in five lifetimes. The Oprah-Ellen infographic published by FinancesOnline.com shows tormenting figures (for us, salaried folks), with Oprah clearly far ahead in assets. But the material does not mean to compare the income of the two women; rather, as a reminder that in  the United States of America, some people just can’t follow the laws of average.  They just have to do and be more, proving that we still live in the land of opportunity, that is, given the chance.

And chances to make millions are what Oprah and Ellen have tons of. The richest self-made woman in the world at $2.7 billion worth, Oprah is easily twenty-five times richer than Ellen. But Ellen is not poorer; Oprah is just richer. The infographic reveals the details, comparing both of their house and transportation assets, income sources and charitable donations.

As much as we glee over their success despite of their background, we hope they will not be an exception, but the norm of things to come.
