Buffoonery of Anthony Weiner

Every time I see his picture, I cringe. I get goose bumps. His image reminds me of the phrases ‘hypocritical charade’. He is a disgrace to his family and a disgrace to the Democratic Party. The person in discussion is Anthony Weiner of course. He must quietly go.

I watched the drama unfold on television screen on July 23rd with Anthony and his wife Huma, in front of the media crew. I did not see Huma Abedin tall and elegant; I did not see her dignified. Instead, I saw her force act a coerced play, shriveling within the overpowering flashes of paparazzi lights – a pantomime in public display for the sake of money, power and politics.

In my eyes, all that remained were the remnants of a diminished wallflower plastered and flattened beyond incognito.

A good husband, in his right mind, would have never put the mother of his child through all the buffoonery he put her through. That ‘Huma’ – the educated, the professional, loving mother of the disgraced man’s child. She summoned to the beckons of his idiotic quirks, standing besides him while the whole world watched in dumbfounded, mouth gaping silence, closing their eyes each time he appeared on screen.

I did not see love on Huma’s face. I saw pain and misery. The earth could have parted swallowing her within the deep crevasse of nature’s abode. In my mind, Huma Abedin lost all possible points for contributing to the circus of the ridicule.

Weiner sent pornographic image of himself to women over the internet. He did it once and apologized. He did it twice and apologized. He did it the third time, apologized, but made an official announcement on the television that he was running for the Mayor of New York City. He resigned from Congress in 2011 under similar circumstances. Every porno transfer accompanied with an apology – a dangerous repetitive behavior! It is no coincidence that he used the alias of Carlos Danger!

He exposed himself in public cyber path through zillion cyber waves. He sold his wife and family for the attraction of the camera flashes. He still wants to run for public office?

As for party politics, hey, money can buy votes. Money can buy public office, money can buy attorneys, and money can buy irrational arguments. Forget about all this.  

In today’s age, governance has become a confounding arena indeed. Folks can get away with shooting an unarmed kid, and politicians can get away with sending images of their private parts to random strangers over the internet. If our government cannot control people like Edward Snowden, I guess – the Party cannot control a person like Weiner.

However, I cringe every time I see his face.

I add to what Leonard Pitts has already said in the Atlanta Journal Constitution on August 1st. Go to Somalia and do charity work, go to Haiti and just settle there, go to Timbuktu for all Huma cares! Just remove yourself quietly.

Go and see a witch doctor and get yourself cured. The Party continues.
