Flowers Growing at
the Peachtree Corners Library

Next time you are riding along Spalding Drive, check out the
flowers around the sign of the Peachtree Corners Library Branch. The members of
the West Gwinnett Chapter of the Friends of the Library (FOL) recently planted
lantanas to spruce up the library grounds.

Thanks to Bill Morgan, Library Facilities Coordinator, for
coordinating the removal of all the overgrown shrubs and the power washing of
the library sign.  Passersby will now be
able to read the entire sign.

Fundraisers by the West Gwinnett FOL brought in enough funds
to purchase soil amendments and flowers.
Come fall, they will plant a more permanent landscape with new shrubs
and perennials.   Gwinnett County Master
Gardener Extension Volunteer, Hilary Wilson is advising the FOL on drought
tolerant, disease resistant plants that will thrive in the sun and enhance the
sign.    Branch Manager, Mary Jean
Harrison, supported the project from the beginning and is delighted with the
new look.

 Thanks to Mark Potts,
Al Hudson, Lee Elrod, Elisabeth Road, Anne Case and Pat Bruschini for
volunteering to till and plant early on a Saturday morning. Special thanks also
to Denise Auger, Library Community Partnership Liaison, for her guidance with
the project.
