New Principals- Cornerstone Christian Academy

Cornerstone Christian Academy recently announced two new appointments for 2014-2015.

Melissa Dill will serve as the new lower school principal. Mrs. Dill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood Education from the University of Georgia and a Master of Arts degree from Piedmont College. She also has a gifted in-field teaching certification. Prior to coming to Cornerstone, she taught second grade for Gwinnett County Public Schools and was a gifted teacher for Cobb County Public Schools. In addition, Mrs. Dill has written curriculum for Cobb County School’s identified gifted program. She has spent time as both a Writing Staff Development Instructor and a New Teacher Staff Development Instructor. An in-house appointment will allow Mrs. Dill to have “on the job” training this spring in order to facilitate a seamless transition. She and her family are residents of Peachtree Corners.

After being the sole K-8 principal for the past three years, Theresa Tamel will now serve as the middle school principal exclusively. Due to rapid school growth, an administrative shift was needed to continue to provide excellent individualized attention to students and families. A long-time resident of Milwaukee, WI, she has experience working with Christ-centered schools both as a classroom instructor and as an administrator. Mrs. Tamel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Lakeland College, a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from UW-Milwaukee, and has her certificate in Administrative Leadership from Marquette University. Throughout her years of service she has served as a lower school vertical team leader, as an elementary school director of development, and as a principal of a K-12 school. She and her family are residents of Peachtree Corners.
