3rd Annual Peachtree Corners Festival Set for June 8-9

More than 10,000 area residents are expected to attend this fun-filled event Saturday and Sunday on The Corners Parkway.

It's the 3rd Annual Peachtree Corners Festival this Saturday and Sunday, featuring good times, great food and toe-tapping musical entertainment. This exciting event is free and promises to be bigger and better than ever this year.

More than 10,000 attended in 2012 despite temperatures that reached 106 degrees.

The festival, which is held on the tree-lined The Corners Parkway and Wood Hill Drive, will feature more than 55 local vendors who will display their skills, arts and crafts. There will be a wide variety of musical entertainment ranging from classic rock to blues, blues rock, classic country and country rock. The Pinckneyville Middle School Band will be on stage Sunday and there will be plenty of family-friendly, fun things for kids as well.

The fun starts Saturday at 10 a.m. Saturday and lasts unti 6 p.m. On Sunday, the festival will kick off at noon and continue through 5 p.m. Admission and parking is free!

Even before the official opening, however, the Peachtree Corners Rotary Club will host a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. at Peachtree Elementary School. Proceeds go to Rotary International End Polio Now campaign and to fund the Rotary Club's community service projects.

For those who would like to participate, the 3rd Annual Peachtree Corners Festival 5K Fun Run and Charity Challenge begins at 7:30 a.m. Entry fee for the 5K Run is $25 and $20 for the Charity Challenge until the day of the event. Participants receive a shirt, goody bag and pancake breakfast.

At 10 a.m. classic car and motorcycle enthusiasts will enjoy the 3rd Annual Peachtree Corners Festival Car and Bike Show with trophies and cash awards available. To pre register, contact Mike@SouthEastWheelsEvents.com or call 770-883-0160. Pre-registration fee is $10. Registration begins at 9 a.m. on the day of the event and costs $15. Event organizers say they expect more than 100 entrants. At 3 p.m. Mayor Mike Mason will present trophies and awards.

City of Peachtree Corners officials will be giving away shopping bags, license plate frames and Peachtree Corners sunglasses along with the city's first official street map. They will also be available to answer questions about the new city.
