Five Things to Know This Week

It's back to school and back to work - check out what's going on in and around Peachtree Corners this week.

 

1. Qualifying for the upcoming mayor and council member posts for the new City of Peachtree Corners begins today, Nov. 28 and ends at noon on Nov. 30. Prospective candidates may visit the Elections office at 455 Grayson Highway, Suite 200, Lawrenceville between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to submit their qualification form and payment. For questions contact the Gwinnett County Elections Office at 678-226-7210.

2. Are you a Picasso wannabe? Sign up for the Minute Masterpiece class at the and learn to paint. The classes meet on Mondays at 7 p.m. Drink wine, relax and paint; cost: $25 per person. The class includes ALL instruction and supplies + your painting to take home. Pre-registration preferred (though definitely not required!) with anne@rcstennis.com (classes open to members and non-members).

3. Tuesday, Nov. 29 is special for . Buy a book at  at  to benefit the school's Reading Room. Use Book Fair ID 10540938 - it's good all day at any B&N and online until Dec. 4. The Simpson Singers are also performing the evening of the 29th at 6, 6:45 and 7:00 p.m. at the B&N at The Forum.

4. has a special deal. On Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, stop by the Peachtree Corners location at 6060 Peachtree Parkway and enjoy an all-day guest appreciation buffet special for just $1.99 per person.

5. The Baseball Team is selling Christmas Trees, all proceeds benefit the team. Stop by 5485 Peachtree Pkwy. in Peachtree Corners (Corner of Spalding Dr & Hway 141, next to Arby's). Nov. 28 - Dec. 2 from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m.
