A Bundle of Love Ready For A Home

Fife is available for adoption from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

Meet little Fife. This precious boy weighs around 10 pounds and is 10 weeks old. Volunteers from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue think he may be a Shiba Inu mix of some sort, but as you can from his face, he has a very unique look.

Little Fife is up-to-date with all his shots, is fully vetted, and will be neutered when he reaches 20 weeks old. This boy is perfect now, but he had a very horrendous start in life.

Fife came to Angels Among Us Pet Rescue as a stray. When he was found and brought into the shelter, he was around 3-1/2 pounds, barely able to stand, malnourished and very close to death. In fact, his core body temperature was so low, he could not be bathed at the time he was pulled from the shelter.

Fife was covered in fleas, as well as sores from flea bites, but he couldn't be bathed and medicated at the time of rescue due to his core temperature being extremely low. He was found to be dehyrated, anemic due to flea and tick bites. With his obvious problems externally, he was also malnourished and had parasites.

It was decided this poor little boy had probably been on his own almost from the time of birth. After a few weeks of extreme care by his foster, wrapped in blankets and kept warm by a heating pad, very careful but steady feedings, lots of sleep, medications and finally baths to rid him of his fleas and help with his bites, Fife began to respond, taking large turns for the better, and today is a well and healthy little pup.

As you can imagine, he is very bonded to his foster mommy, and is shy around others until he gets to know you, but he's a playful boy now, learning how to be a doggie and have fun. He loves other dogs, especially his foster's two-year-old Lab whom Fife thinis is his "mama."

It is not known how he is with cats since there are no kittys in the foster's home. Fife needs to be adopted into a home with another adult dog who will accept him, and will help him grow up to be a great dog. He will also need a patient family willing to spend time training him – he is very trainable, but is still a puppy and will appreciate someone who will give him a guiding hand in teaching him well as he grows.

He should be around 30-plus pounds when he's full-grown and will also need a home with a fenced-in yard.
