Black and White Labrador-Mix Ready for Adoption

Two-year-old female is house trained, spayed, micro-chipped and up-to-date on her shots.

Meet "Callie Girl"! She is a Lab mix approximately 2 years old, and weighs 60 pounds and has been spayed, up-to-date on all vetting/shots, microchipped, house-trained, and very much crate-trained.

She loves to go into her "safe place" (her crate) periodically to get away from her other furry siblings and the hustle and bustle of her foster home and family. Her favorite thing to do while chilling out in her crate is to chew on her rawhide bones. She does love roaming around in her home and playing with the other foster dogs but she also loves her special space that's all her own!

Callie Girl was rescued from the Murray County Animal Shelter by an Angels Among Us Pet Rescue volunteer. Once Angels got to the shelter, they discovered Callie had a brother (also a Lab mix) who had been surrendered then saved several weeks earlier. Once she was pulled safely from the shelter, she was vetted, spayed and chipped. At the time, Callie was found to also be malnourished but after three weeks of TLC and feedings, she started to feel and look healthy.

But suddenly, a different problem popped up when she was observed limping. After being evaluated by three different surgeons, Callie was diagnosed with damage to her right femur and hip area. Luckily, Angels was able to get her into surgery quickly and with great vet care and more TLC from her foster family, Callie is now fully recovered from the injury and absolutely adores taking long walks!

Callie is good with and around other dogs and loves, loves all people and kids. She hasn't been exposed to cats but is very gentle with her foster family's Chihuahuas and even allows them to "groom" her. She easily and quickly responds to commands and is very eager to please and spend time with her person.

Callie is very sweet, very obedient and really seems to have an appreciation for being "rescued" and her life given back to her. She loves belly rubs, and gently takes treats from your hand. Her foster family describe hugging her as being like "hugging a teddy bear."

The ideal home for Callie would be an active home environment, a fenced-in backyard with a secure gate, and a family who will give her all the affection, love, hugs, kisses and belly rubs she can handle, and more!

Although her "bark" can be much worse than any threat of a "bite," she doesn't often bark at all but will warn of strangers and uninvited intruders around your home. When guests, friends and family come over, she is the ultimate welcome wagon, and will openly and lovingly invite them in to share her home and family. Callie will make the ideal pet to bring into your home and family!
