Carol's Corner: Strange Things to Buy in Peachtree Corners

Look no further than your own neighborhood shops for some most unusual thing for sale.

After some investigation I came across some unusual, OK wacky, things that can be purchased right here in Peachtree Corners.

While shopping for boots one day I noticed a pair of boot/sandals. In the picture to your right you can take a look at these beauties. I’m thinking somebody couldn’t make up his mind; sandals or boots?

Hum, I think I’ll put them together. No: this is not going to work. Your toes will freeze in the winter and your ankles will burn up in the summer. Just pick your season and get shoes to match; but if you’re going for the ancient Roman centurion look, these would be good.

Then there’s the Barbie fishing pole. I realize it’s cute and may entice some little girl to go fishing--but really. I’ve known Barbie for years and she does not fish. I know that in the picture she’s very cute in her rolled up jeans and Keds--but no. The whole squirmy-wormy bait thing is a definite no-go for Barbie. And holding a floppy fish--I don’t think so. Barbie likes to do her nails but not use them to hold slimy things.

Last but not least, is an egg cracker. Seriously? It’s a gizmo about the size of a small gun and it looks like a complicated device. When I first saw it in the store it was on clearance (small wonder). When I went back to take a picture of it they were all gone! I think the store got embarrassed and put them away.

While looking over this contraption I came to the conclusion that it was so complicated I would probably drop my egg on the floor while trying to put it into the egg cracker. Of course, that would solve the problem because the egg would then definitely be cracked. I guess that thing works after all.

Happy shopping.
