Light Up Peachtree Corners With A Run in the Dark

Peachtree Corners runners and night owls rejoice - you won't have to get up at the crack of dawn to enjoy this foot race.

A new fund-raising event, Light Up The Corners, will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2013 with a 1k Twilight Trot beginning at 8:00 p.m., and a 4 mile loop beginning at 9:00 p.m.

The races will start and finish at The Forum. The races and after party will light up Peachtree Corners as hundreds of glowing, flashing, sparkling runners and walkers flow through the course and return to celebrate at The Forum's after-party.

Both races will be chip-timed. Awards for the 4 mile run will be given to overall male and female; overall masters male and female; and top three finishers in each of fourteen age groups (1-10 years of age through 70 & over in 5-year increments);  Top three male and female finishers of the 1k will receive an award and medals will be given to all 1k participants. 

Free childcare for ages 2 - 12 will be provided between 7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. at the Fowler YMCA.  Space is limited and parents must register their children in advance. Please call Keisha at Fowler YMCA at 770-246-9622 for more information.

There will be contests for the "glowiest" men, women, boys, girls and teams.  So, strap on as much glowing bling as you can find and come light up the course with your friends and family. Whether you are a fast runner, a weekend jogger, or a casual walker you are invited to be a part of the first Light Up The Corners event.  

PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE: 

Runners and Walkers can register as individuals, or sign up as part of a team. Teams are made up of four or more runners. All runners and walkers participating in either event will receive the following:

•  Technical, quick-dry T-shirt with reflective, fluorescent logos
• Glow items to ensure you glow on the course!
• Safe, designated,  coned-off lane for running or walking
• Entry to the Post Race After Party
