Did You Know That Volunteering Is Good For Your Health?

Those who give of themselves also receive. Discover the healthy benefits of helping others.

There are many reasons to volunteer at Peachtree Corners' Robert Fowler Family YMCA, like giving back to the community or helping a child learn to read, or catch a ball.

There is another reason to volunteer, that you may not have considered: volunteering is good for your health.

At the Y we see this everyday, people who give back to others lead happier and healthier lives than those who do not volunteer. Y volunteers come from all walks of life but they share a common trait — wanting to help others. And Fowler Y can always use more helping hands.

Did you know that volunteers are a big part of the Y Youth Sports Program? That's right, our coaches, co-coaches and team parents are volunteers!

In addition to sports, you can mentor a teen, or raise funds through our Annual Giving Campaign to ensure the Y is accessible to everyone in our community. You can also be a Member Ambassador and make new members feel at home at Fowler Y.
