West Gwinnett Park's Outdoor Pool to Open May 28

School is out and summer fun begins, public facility opens just in time for Peachtree Corners and Berkeley Lake residents to enjoy.

School days are about over, but the summer fun is just about to begin. For Peachtree Corners and Berkeley Lake families, it means it's time to head over to the West Gwinnett Park Aquatic Center and enjoy the facility's outdoor pool and waterpark.

The outdoor leisure pool features a zero-depth entry, two giant water slides, river channel, bubble bench, vortex, spray bar, and water play structures opens noon on Saturday, May 28 for the summer season. Regular hours for the outdoor facility are noon to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 1 to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

The aquatic center, which is located on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, also features an indoor facility, a 25-yard by 25-meter competition pool with 750-seat spectator area and instructional pool that is open year round.

All of Gwinnett County's acquatic centers are preparing to open May 28, and residents can purchase special FUNCARDS that will be valid at all Gwinnett pools.

Gwinnett parks operates twoΒ indoor and seven outdoor leisure pools, four indoor competition pools, three indoor instructional pools, and one outdoor pool.

Year-round, seasonal or 10-visit FUNCARDS are valid at all Gwinnett County pools, according to a county media release. All paying patrons (18-up) will be required to furnish proof of residency in order to avoid paying the non-resident rates.

Gwinnett County residents have the option to purchase a Resident Passport as a convenient way to show proof of residency. FUNCARDS and Resident Passports can be purchased at all aquatic facilities and various gyms and community centers.

All county pools are accessible for people with disabilities and offer safe, supervised swimming places for people of all ages. The outdoor facilities will be open through Labor Day weekend. For more details on locations, and hours of operation, or other amenities, visit the county website.
