Olympic-Themed Fundraiser to Benefit Gwinnett Seniors

The Friends of Gwinnett County Senior Services (Friends) will hold its annual silent auction on April 26 at Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett from 6:00pm – 8:30pm. The Silent Auction is the biggest fundraising event of the year for Friends.

The organization will auction off a number of items, including sports packages, vacation getaways, and admission to Atlanta and local tourist attractions. Live entertainment and food will be provided by Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett.

Friends is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer-run organization dedicated to raising funds to privately support or supplement select senior programs in Gwinnett County. They are partners of Gwinnett County Senior Services and the money raised will be used to support select senior services programs.

Jennifer Thilo, Executive Director at Delmar Gardens, is very passionate about the auction and loves hosting the event every year.

“I feel fortunate to be part of the lives of seniors every day and am thrilled to be able to help seniors in need,” says Thilo. “I am also fortunate to be part of a company that truly believes in being a positive part of the community.”

The theme for this year’s auction is the Olympics, where the facility will provide an international feast. A big part of the planning process is encouraging others to donate items and sponsor the event.

“Delmar Gardens is used to orchestrating elaborate events,” says Thilo. “So this part, while a big effort, is also a lot of fun for us.”

Advance tickets for the auction are $25 or $30 at the door. Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett is located at 3100 Club Drive in Lawrenceville. For more information, contact Jennifer Thilo at 770.923.3100 or Celia Moore at 404.936.2954.
