Swing Into Spring Concert and Dance

When HUGE ticket demand for the wildly popular premiere musical Clyde ’n Bonnie: A Folktale, necessitated an extension, was left with the task of juggling an already jam-packed schedule.

On the original April schedule was both a big band concert and a dance event. With a little help form the great folks at 550 Trackside, Aurora Theatre was able to combine the events into one tremendous evening of entertainment.

Swing into Spring concert and dance will take place on Friday, April 27 at 8pm with a live performance by the Metro Jazz Club.

With seating for 250 and a dance floor, this event will represent the best of the popular Aurora Swing Nights and Dance Night Series into one great event.

The Metro Jazz Club is a smokin’-hot 17 piece band dedicated to the preservation of some of the best music ever composed from the smoothest jazz to the spirited rhythms of swing.

The band is led by jazz sax man Gary Dalton. Swing into Spring will feature wonderful vocalists. The band is accompanied by a sultry chanteuse, the magnificent Maxine Cummins, velvety crooner Jason Joines and the incomparable Ann-Carol Pence, Aurora Theatre Associate Producer. Very few vocalists combine the power and beauty of Ann-Carol Pence as she thoughtfully interprets a phrase of music.

 Swing into Spring will be held at 550 Trackside, just off the Lawrenceville square, right across from the old Lawrenceville train depot. This gorgeous event facility contains granite walls, archways and original wood, all restored to their natural beauty. There will be a selection of beer, wine and other soft drinks. From the new Market at the Depot, Chew-Chew Café will offer delectable homemade snacks. Parking is FREE.
