Harry Potter Part 2 Premiers in Gwinnett

Fans from all over the county braved a torrential downpour for opening night at AMC Discover Mills.

AMC Discover Mills was among the theaters premiering "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," the eighth movie based on the seventh book penned by J.K. Rowling. The premiere began at midnight on Thursday, July 14, and appropriately β€œit was a dark and stormy night” complete with lightning, thunder and a torrential downpour.Β Β

Theatre guests, many in costumes depicting characters in the books and movies, began arriving before 11 p.m. to find prime seating for the conclusion of the epic series. The seventh book was divided into Parts 1 and 2 for the movies. Some fans chose to re-see Part 1 at 9 p.m. and stay for the midnight showing of the new Part 2.
