Mark Your Calendars; First Annual Peachtree Corners Festival, June 11

On the second Saturday in June, Peachtree Corners hosts its very first festival. Come out and support this great community event.

Peachtree Corners is really coming together as a community and one of the ways that’s being highlighted is with a brand new festival. On Saturday, June 11, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., there will be activities galore going on at the Corners Parkway off of Holcomb Bridge Road. The site of the Peachtree Corners Festival is nestled within The Corners Office Park and will provide easy access and plenty of parking.

Vendors of both food and arts and crafts are signing up. So far the following restaurants will be participating: Nemoes, Hi Life, California Pizza Kitchen, GiGi’s Cupcakes (opening in June at The Forum) Los Arcos, and Ten (opening soon next to Johnny’s Pizza). There are not only vendors but bands, a children’s area and many non-profit groups.

Michael Kuras, one of the Peachtree Corners residents on the festival committee first suggested Peachtree Corners host such an event. But more than just suggest it, he went to work to organize and become president of Peachtree Corners Festival Inc. which is now a member of the Southeast Festival & Events Assoc. Off and running, this energetic group of people organized themselves and in turn are organizing this upcoming event. Kuras hopes this will serve to “help give Peachtree Corners an identity.”

In future years the festival might be extended to a two day event but this year the planning committee had other ideas. They decided that kicking off with a one day festival on a date when they weren’t competing with other venues was the way to go.

Linda O’Connor, one of the committee members, expressed great excitement about the festival. She said, “We’re pleased to celebrate our community. This is a way to bring recognition to Peachtree Corners and its residents. It’s also a great way to showcase local businesses.”
