Friday, March 23, Lionheart Theatre's production of "Enchanted April" opens.

Directed by Laurence Ruth, "Enchanted April" is a sweet, classic comedy that follows the stories of four English ladies who decide to escape their normal lives to find themselves. By doing so, they enrich their lives with the people around them. Their destination is a castle in Italy, replete with wisteria and sunshine.

The play version of "Enchanted April" is a little different from the 1992 movie you may have seen. The play revolves around four ladies who run in different social circles that need a holiday, whether that be from a husband, the press or a house full of memories, and we follow them to Italy, and become entranced by the countryside's beauty and how it reflects on the ladies and those around them. It is a story of transformation, of taking a new look on our everyday life and appreciating what we have, and what we can aspire to.

The beautiful set lends a Tuscan feel to the show and will help put audience members right in Italy. Ruth, the director, has done a marvelous job with this show and will delight all ages.
