Center for Puppetry Arts presents Space!

What's entertaining, educational and simply out of this world? Space! - the brand new show at the Center for Puppetry Arts!

My great-niece, Katie, and I attended the opening week-end performance of Space!, the new show at The Center for Puppetry Arts. This show  is so funny and full of action that the kids don't realize that they are learning interesting facts about our solar system. Katie, who is 6 years old, has seen lots of puppet shows at the center, but says that this one is her favorite.

She particularly liked very beginning when the observatory sprouted legs and ran away because a UFO landed!! She thought that was hilarious!! After a few repairs, the spaceship takes off again with Ot and Eema who guide us through the galaxy. They are accompanied by a very cool extraterrestrial band including Guitarth Vader, Daddy-O and Starshine. The songs are lots of fun and are chocked full of fun facts about  planets, stars, comets and even the asteroid belt!

After the show, we went upstairs to the Create-A-Puppet Workshop to create her very own Extraterrestrial Hand Puppet to take home! She even made one for her younger brother, Johnny, who couldn't come with us. Katie thinks that the puppetry center has the coolest crafts ever!!

Judging from the number of questions she had on the ride home, I think her Mom will be checking out lots of library books on space! We had a great visit at the Center for Puppetry Arts and Katie says she highly recommends this show for your kids. But, it only runs through March 11 so get there before Ot and Eema take off again!!

Tickets are $16.50 for non-members and $9.25 for members. Children under two are free. Tickets include the Create-A-Puppet Workshop after the show where children can create their very own Extraterrestrial Hand Puppet to take home!
