Within an hour, preorders had completely sold out, Apple said it was "blown away" by the incredible response according to a report on CNET.
Those who weren’t able to snatch a preorder can still elect to wait in line at Apple and cell phone provider stores to purchase the phones on Friday, Sept. 21.
Even those who were able to place a preorder still may not get their hands on them as quickly as they hope.
Apple’s website states it will take at least two weeks to deliver the phone in the United States, the UK, Canada, Australia and Germany.
CNET reports that Verizon has pushed delivery dates back to Sept. 28, while AT&T has said iPhone orders will be shipped in 14 to 21 business days.
