The New TEN Bistro Scores a 10

Walk into this charming new Peachtree Corners restaurant and you know that it's a place you want to sit down and stay awhile.

TEN Bistro is up, and coming to Peachtree Corners on June 1st. As you enter you’ll be greeted by a green accented room-length bench, art on the walls above, and music to match the mood of this cozy and welcoming space.

TEN is a completely Peachtree Corners endeavor with all of the major players and backers involved, living right here in the area. Jesse Kauffman is the proprietor of the restaurant. He lived most of his younger years in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, before moving to the states. During college and beyond he spent the bulk of his career, until now, working for large corporate restaurant companies, regionally managing dozens of restaurants. Others who are involved in the new endeavor are Rose (Jesse’s mom), Chef Matt Tarr and Barry and Rachel Kraemer

The name TEN bistro was arrived at because ten Peachtree Corners neighbors were asked to submit recipes to be tested and the best of those will be served at the restaurant with the name of the winning neighborhood displayed on the menu. How’s that for a neighborhood experience?

In the kitchen Chef Matt Tarr works hard to create and present dishes that are not only pleasing to the eye but to the palate as well. His efforts do not fall short. I had the opportunity to preview the restaurant's atmosphere as well as it’s food and I will definitely go back. Among other things they will serve fresh fish, steaks, and grass-fed burgers with unusual options. TEN specializes in organic, vegetarian foods with vegan and gluten free options.

While visiting, first I enjoyed a tasty and beautiful antipasto salad. Next came two great tapas. First was shrimp salad garnished with siracha, ginger and mint. It had a very delicate flavor and was delicious. Next was seared beef tenderloin on a rosemary flat bread; all that topped with caramelized onion gastrique (a reduction sauce) with aioli. Last and most impressive came pan roasted wild salmon, over jullienne squash, chive potato rösti, garnished with caramelized onion and sherry gastrique and chive oil. Be still my heart. So there may be someone who doesn’t want to come to this new restaurant; and why might that be?

I didn’t have time to stay for dessert but I hear that will include organic ice cream and gelato, tiramisu, and more, along with a crepe bar that is open until midnight.

TEN will offer catering and eventually deliver for orders of $50 or more. There is no separate private room for parties but Kauffman is willing to open the entire restaurant for parties and already has one scheduled.

The hours of operation are: 10 a.m.-11 p.m. during the week and open until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. TEN Bistro is located at 5005 Peachtree Parkway, Suite 820, Norcross GA 30092. (Next door to Johnny’s Pizza.) Come on in starting June 1 and enjoy this wonderful, new local restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.
