Chick-fil-A Touting Healthier Kid's Menu Items

The Atlanta-based food company already had a good reputation there, but it is seeking improvement.

Chick-fil-A, which has outlets in Peachtree Corners, is rolling out a healthier kid's menu, according to the company website.

The fast-food restaurant is introducing grilled nuggets as an entree option and will offer Buddy Fruits Pure Blended Fruit to Go applesauce to go with the chain’s other healthier side alternatives, according to a statement by the company Monday.

For parents concerned about gluten, the new grilled nuggets entree, applesauce and fruit cup are gluten free, according to the company.

"The reality is that we live in an on-the-go world where parents have limited healthy meal options for their kids on the way to and from recreational activities, school or other events,” said Woody Faulk, Chick-fil-A’s vice president of brand strategy and design, in the news release. “Our new Kid’s Meal reflects our commitment to helping parents strike a balance between nutrition, convenience and price. We want parents to know that they do have a choice at Chick-fil-A.”

The in Peachtree Corners is located 6105 Peachtree Pkwy.

Obesity and chain fast food restaurant nutrition are nationwide problems for children and adults. Kudos to our homegrown chain for being a leader in dealing with these problems. Let's hope others follow Chik-Fil-A's example.
