Georgia Commerce Bank Celebrates Its Grand Opening in Style

Nearly 500 invited guests attended the ribbon-ceremony for the bank's new branch in Peachtree Corners.

It was a gala evening at the grand opening of Georgia Commerce Bank Wednesday to celebrate the first branch to open in Gwinnett County.

The evening included hors d'oeuvres and cocktails, music by a string quartet and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Gwinnett Chamber's Vince de Silva, State Rep. Tom Rice, Mayor Mike Mason, PCBA President Mike McLaughlin, Gwinnett Commerce Bank's Rodney Hall (president) and Mark Tipton (CEO and Chairman) were on hand for the occassion.

Dan Baker, the branch's Senior Vice President was pleased with the turnout. "We're delighted to be in the Peachtree Corners community," he said.

The Gwinnett branch is located at 200 Scientific Drive in Peachtree Corners with Dan Baker managing the new expansion. Baker, well known in Peachtree Corners banking and business circles, has spent 42 years in the banking business, the last 27 in Peachtree Corners with 1st Security National Bank.

Georgia Commerce, which had been operating in temporary headquarters nearby while the renovations were completed, opened its doors on Dec. 28, 2012.

Georgia Commerce is headed by Chairman and CEO Mark Tipton and Rodney Hall, the financial institution's director, president and chief lending officer. Its headquarters are located in the Cumberland area of Cobb County. Click here for more information on the bank and the service it offers.
