New Wings 101 Restaurant Opens

If you ever want an endorsement for a good place to eat, just follow the workday lunch crowd, seems like they're always able to ferret out the best spots.

And it appears the they have already discovered one of Peachtree Corners' newest restaurants, Wings 101, which only opened a week and a half ago.

The new eatery took over the spot previously occupied by The Philly Steak Connection in the Market Place shopping center on Peachtree Parkway.

Wings 101, we discovered, is a fairly new Atlanta-based franchise - this location is owned and operated by Jay Kim. Two local men, Hyun S. Park and James Baek, both in the restaurant business for over a decade, came up with the plan for Wings 101, the first opened just last year followed by three more, in Buckhead, Beaver Ruin in Norcross and another in the Northlake area.

Kim said she was sold on the concept when she saw one of the restaurants. "I loved the atmosphere, the fast service, and the contemporary interior," she said. Kim  opened the Peachtree Corners location on June 20. 

The menu includes, of course, a variety of buffalo wings, diners choose from 10 different flavorings including hot, medium or mild, Lemon Pepper, Honey Mustard, Teriyaki and more. You can also choose regular or boneless wings.

And what's the biggest seller we asked? The wings of course. Kim said 60 to 70 percent of their sales come from wings with the hot and Lemon Pepper flavors the top sellers.

There's plenty more on the menu; chicken tenders, fried rice, Philly sandwich, shrimp, fish, burgers, sub sandwiches, gyros and salads round out the choices.

Prices range from $5.99 for the Philly sandwich to $9.99 for a shrimp and fish combo. And if you're feeding a crowd, the restaurant also sells party platters.

Side dishes offered are fries, onion rings, sweet potato fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies. 

Drink choices are limited to fountain drinks but Kim said they may consider adding beer and wine at a later date. Click here for a menu.
