Peachtree Corners Rotary Club News

Norcross Kiwanis club attends the weekly Rotary meeting.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Our members develop youth as leaders, build playgrounds and raise funds for pediatric research. Working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone.

The Norcross chapter of Kiwanis is heavily involved with our
local schools. Whether it is celebrating and encouraging grade school children to “Bring Up Grades” (BUGs) or volunteering time to assist the teachers, Kiwanis is there. In this past school year over 400 children in Norcross participated in a Kiwanis program.

The Norcross Kiwanis meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at the Norcross Welcome Center located on Lawrenceville St. next to City Hall and the Fire Station. Meetings are at 8:15. Light breakfast is served and visitors are always welcome.

The Kiwanis members were interested in hearing the weekly
speaker, Jonathan Patterson principal of Norcross High School.  Principal Patterson presented an interesting and informative discussion of the “State of the School” and some of the ways he and his teachers achieve the goals.  He stressed the efforts and high quality of the teachers who teach our children at Norcross High School.
