Ray's on the River Responds to Failed Health Inspection Report

The Sandy Springs restaurant's marketing director says a follow-up inspection fared better.

 

Ray's on the River marketing director, Claire Brimmer, says the popular restaurant received high marks on a follow-up health inspection.

Earlier this month, Ray's on the River flunked its health inspection for the second time since last May. On Jan. 18, the restaurant scored 56 on its report. 

Brimmer posted the following comment to Patch's health inspection story, on Monday.

I appreciate your concerns about Ray’s on the River’s recent health inspection score and assure you that all of the mistakes have been corrected. Please know that all of us take food safety very seriously and understand this was our error. Guest safety was never at risk, and Ray’s on the River remains a safe place to eat.

Please note that Ray's on the River scored a 97 on the follow up inspection on 1/23/13.

In a follow-up comment Brimmer added: 

We certainly agree that a failing score is unacceptable and understand your concerns. We accept responsibility for our mistakes and have gone to great lengths to correct them. This includes the implementation of new checklists and standards, as well as team member training.

I assure you that customer safety was not endangered and that Ray’s on the River remains a safe place to eat.

Well, love how Claire Brimmer states customer safety was not at risk...MOLD?? That is disgusting and a risk. Lamb Chops being stored near the shellfish? That is also a potential safety hazard for foodborne illnesses. I do not trust Ray's at all. Be honest and I would respect them a lot more. I used to eat there rather often for Sunday Brunch. I think I will be staying away!

Yuck! This is not there first time Ray's has failed an inspection. There are plenty more restaurants to choose from. I won't go back, ever!
