Toyota Recalling RAV4s and Lexus Sedans

The company said a suspension problem could potentially cause crashes.

Toyota said Wednesday they are recalling 778,000 RAV4 SUVs and Lexus HS 250h sedans, according to a recent press release.

The recall is voluntary; it affects the 2006 to 2011 model year RAV4 and 2010 Lexus HS 250h.

"Toyota has determined that if the nuts on the rear suspension arm are not tightened following the proper procedure and torque specification during a rear wheel alignment service, excessive play may occur at the threaded portion of the arm, followed by rust formation," according to the press release.

"If this were to occur, the threaded portion of the rear suspension arm may wear and cause the arm to separate."

Toyota is working on a solution. Once a remedy is available, Toyota will notify owners and the vehicle can be fixed at no cost at your nearest Toyota or Lexus dealer.
