A Look at Plans for Spalding Drive Senior Living Center

Nearby homeowners delighted to know the Peachtree Corners development is progressing.

The developers are moving forward with the plans to build a senior living center on the Spalding Drive property where the burned out church now sits - and it will be a welcome relief to residents who have watched the weeds take over the church building and parking lot.

Final site and landscape plans were submitted to Gwinnett County for Noble Village at Spalding to be located at 5701 Spalding Drive. "The site and landscaping plans have been approved," said Bryan Lackey, Director of Planning and Development for Gwinnett County.

Lackey said the City of Peachtree Corners and its yet-to-be-formed Planning Commission will take over the responsibilities for future reviews and approvals.

Janice Lloyd, who lives in a home just behind the property says she can't hardly wait for the new development to begin. "It's very positive news," said Lloyd who has lived in her home in the Peachtree Station neighborhood since 1989 and has been worried about rodents on the property. "Since its been vacated, the property has been in steady decline," she added.

The owners were expecting to pull a grading permit by the end of last week and hope to have bulldozers out to clear the property and begin building soon.

There is currently one other Noble Village located on Satellite Boulevard in Suwanee. Mark Gary, one of the owners of the development, said the Spalding Drive development will be similar with residential choices for residents 55 and over that include:

  • Private apartment homes (one and two bedroom)
  • Cottage homes (one, two and three bedroom)
  • Assisted living (one bedroom and studio)
  • Memory care villa (studio)

Plans also call for a restaurant, walking trails, gardens, and numerous other amenities.
