Local Businesswoman Recognized for Outstanding Volunteerism

Local Allstate agency owner Debbie Dykes received the Allstate Agency Hands in the Community Award for her commitment to helping others and community service. Because of Debbie’s outstanding volunteerism, The Allstate Foundation awarded a $1,000 grant to the Norcross High Foundation of Excellence, where she volunteers.

Allstate, its agents, and employees have a proud history of putting their good hands to work in supporting Georgia communities, promoting volunteerism and providing financial resources to enable local organizations to help others. Now in its 62nd year, The Allstate Foundation has given more than $300 million in financial contributions to communities around the country and in 2013, gave $126,000  in Georgia as part of the Allstate Agency Hands in the Community Program.

“The Allstate Agency Hands in the Community Award celebrates the spirit of service and commitment to communities where we live, work and do business.” said Bob Holden, Field Senior Vice President for Allstate’s Southeast region. “With support from The Allstate Foundation, Debbie makes our hometown a better place.”

The Allstate Foundation awards $2 million every year to nonprofit organizations across the country in honor of dedicated Allstate agency owners who give back to their communities through outstanding volunteerism. To be eligible for nomination, Allstate agency owners must volunteer, mentor, or lead a nonprofit of their choice.
