Fun food ideas, tips, and free recipes for April!

National Picnic Month
National Picnic Month
By Colleen Walsh Fong

Baseball season officially started this month. Managers of teams at all levels are formulating their line ups aiming for success. I'm always thinking through my day, week, and month in the kitchen, too, trying to formulate a winning line-up of meals for my family. And I'm using national food holidays to make sure my meals are a hit!

This month is designated National Florida Tomato month. Read more about tomatoes and great ways to use them here.

National Picnic Day falls near the end of the month on the 23rd. Find some fabulous tips for making your picnic a winning event here.

And when you're packing up your picnic using all the ideas in our picnic post, don't forget to add some Pigs In a Blanket to celebrate National Pigs in a Blanket Day on the 24th! Our version is light and tasty, easy to make, and tastes wonderful hot from the oven or cool and out of the picnic basket!

Have a winning spring season!
