Happy Friday Everyone!!! As I sat at my desk this week reading some of the theft reports that came in for the week I noticed something very similar on the majority of the them. NO SERIAL NUMBERS FOR THE PROPERTY!!!! Over the span of my 15 year career and the 100's of reports I have taken, that's the one thing I never understood how folks would make huge purchases of electronics (Laptops, tablets, TV's,) and not take 10 seconds to write down the serial numbers. My tip for the week is to create a simple spreadsheet and take a quick inventory of your residence and take down all serial numbers on your property. I recommend keeping this information on a thumb drive and storing it somewhere that its accessible and safe in case of a fire. Also consider emailing the list to yourself to where it is electronically saved. Thanks everyone and have a safe weekend.
